Listen to Bettina:
Let me share my own personal story as a breast cancer survivor and how I became interested in working with other cancer survivors and people who suffer from lymphedema...
What patients say:
My migraines have been less frequent and less intense since I began Physical Therapy (PT). PT has also helped reduce the tension in my neck, shoulders and back that accompanies the headaches. Most notable has been the relief of the depression that accompanied my migraines.
- Paige M.
I've suffered for years with a lower back injury. Recently my chiropractor suggested Rising Sun Physical Therapy. I worked with Bettina over a period of months and was able to reduce the my pain level to almost nonexistent. Going from chronic pain to living pain-free has been incredible! Thanks to physical therapy, I am strong enough and stable enough to resume Pilates and feel confident that the activity won’t make my injury worse.
- Andrea Y.
I am suffering from a terminal illness of the airway and cannot avail myself of the only known beneficial therapy. I am in constant pain and suffer from severe edema. At Rising Sun I experience a healing massage and my breathing reaches a place I have never known, one that shuts off the voice in my head that says: "It's over. Give up." Thank you Rising Sun.

Who We Are
Bettina Neumann, PT, CST, LLCC
My vision is to inspire and empower people to start healthy habits, to become personally responsible, to regain their health and renew their energy after injury or surgery. I am passionate about giving hope to those who are suffering from chronic conditions and helping them to develop routines that will empower them to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle.
I enjoy working with people recovering from musculoskeletal problems, lymphedema or cancer.
I also enjoy working with women and families during the childbearing years to reduce their stress while caring for their newborn and optimizing their baby's well-being.
My personal experience as a breast cancer survivor and mother of two has influenced my practice in many ways.
What makes my practice different is that I have worked to create an exceptional healing environment combined with medically sound approaches. My technique acknowledges and utilizes the strong body-mind connection we all have. I combine evidence-based, innovative, nontraditional, and hands-on therapies with a proactive approach.
Among the methods I use are craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage therapy, manual manipulation, therapeutic exercise, compression therapy, awareness of body movement, relaxation techniques and education in self-care.
I have experience with all types of clients of all ages, men and women, infants to seniors.
I am open to supplementing our treatment with other therapies to holistically approach your health issues. I want you to receive the most healing possible.
I am the author and creator of Exercise-Made-Easy™ a CD album with workbook for people managing lymphedema, recovering from cancer, and wanting to boost their immune system.

I am a Certified CranioSacral Therapist, and a Certified Teaching Assistant in CranioSacral Therapy, including Pediatrics, through the Upledger Institute. I am also certified in Lympedema/Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy.
Moon, CMT
After being hit by a car while riding my bike I was diagnosed with several fractures in my pelvis and sacrum. Even though I was a body worker for many years before my injury, this event changed my life, and my life's work, forever.
Before my injury I used to believed that receiving structural bodywork immediately after an injury would be all I needed to return to health and overall well-being. After my accident, despite all the good it did, bodywork did not seem to address the underlying symptoms and trauma.
Then I heard about craniosacral therapy. I didn't know what it was, or how or why it worked, but it worked! After the very first session I felt like someone had finally turned the lights back on. My body felt calmer and more grounded, the fog in my head began to lift and I noticed a sense of fluidity within my body.
I wondered how such gentle touch could effect change so fast. Finding the answer to this question has led me on an incredible journey of self-discovery, through pain and fear to joy and freedom.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) provides a way to reset the body's physical, mental and emotional holding patterns that can interfere with our innate ability to heal. This approach of working through the body opens a pathway to facilitate change at the source of physical symptoms, enabling the body to regain its natural function, balance and ease. Of the many treatment modalities I've worked with, CST has proven to be the most effective means for treating a wide range of symptoms from everyday stress to serious ailments. For over a decade now I have been helping people with chronic musculoskeletal pain, depression, digestive disorders, allergies and the general effects of stress and tension.
Education
I earned my BA in the field of Holistic Health and Wellness, with an emphasis on body-mind connection, from Prescott College. I went on to earn my certification as an Advanced Bodyworker from the Alive and Well Institute of Conscious Bodywork.
I then focused my education on structural rehabilitation and integration, going on to study independently with Dr. Mara Frattasio, a leading chiropractor and physical therapist specializing in sports injury rehabilitation.
When I realized the power of subtle touch, the emphasis of my work shifted to not only addressing pain, but also to seeing through it into the place of ease, wellness, and restoration, human potential and personal expression.
Since then I have devoted myself to the study of craniosacral therapy and other subtle body care techniques.
I studied CST, visceral manipulation, ortho-bionomy, and trauma resolution with the Upledger Institute, and am now continuing my studies with Bettina.
